Takeshi OKADOME, Professor (Artificial Intelligence Laboratory) | This course has the purpose to learn the optimization mathematics and the introduction of machine learning. | Students should be able to the following optimization algorithms: the gradient method, the conjugate gradient method, and Newton's method, and to understand the basic concepts of deep learning. | Each time, one or two people will be in charge and present what they have learned so far. |
Koh KAKUSHO, Professor (Image Information Processing Laboratory) | The purpose of this practical training course is for students to obtain the skills of estimating and classifying human body poses using color images and depth images. | Students will learn basic techniques of estimating and classifying human body poses using color images and depth images obtained by RGB-D cameras. | First, we will learn how to create a two-dimensional human posture estimation program using color images among the images obtained by the RGB-D camera. Next, three-dimensional attitude estimation is realized by using a distance image together. In addition, we will learn about the clustering of the obtained human postures and the classification method of unknown postures based on the results. Finally, we will make a free production about human behavior recognition using them and give a demo presentation. |
Naoko KISHIMOTO, Professor | This course aims to develop students' existing skills and knowledge for general engineering research and tackle the specific challenges in preparation for "Research Work" in the final (4th) year of the undergraduate program. | By the end of this course, successful students should be able to; tackle the specific challenges with existing or developed skills and knowledge, plan and report results with understanding constraints and deadlines. | detail |
