Materials chemistry I

Course Purpose
The purpose of this lecture course is to learn the basics of chemistry to understand properties, structures, and reactions of chemical substances.
Learning Goals
Students should be able to learn the following subjects in chemistry:
・Structure and electron arrangement of atoms indispensable for understanding chemical reactions
・The relationship between electron configuration and chemical properties
・Three phases of chemical substances
・Chemical reaction theory
・Thermodynamics
・Finally, recognizing how chemistry is being utilized in society, students should be able to acquire the basic knowledge necessary to understand each specialized field of chemistry such as physical chemistry, organic chemistry, or inorganic chemistry etc.
